Vegetarian Smoothie

Careful now, Craig! :) As Craig shows on the video above, creating great vegetarian smoothies isn’t about measuring and recipes, but here are the ingredients of this particular vegetarian smoothie..

Smoothie Ingredients

  • Frozen strawberries
  • Banana
  • Frozen spinach (healthy!)
  • Sunflower Seeds
  • Oats (for thickness)
  • (Unsweetened) Almond Milk
  • Mystery Butter#2 (Peanut & Hazelnut Butter mixed)

Vegetarian Smoothie Tips

Personally, for my kind of vegetarian smoothie – I’d replace that “Mystery Butter#2″ with a raw one, like raw cashew butter or raw almond butter, or just leave it out.

If you happen to be one of those people who have problems digesting almonds, soaking the raw almonds in plain water for up to a day helps with that. Soaking is good for any seeds as well, like pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, flax seeds, and sesame seeds.

With good soaking, the enzyme inhibitors are released, helping with the digestion while giving up to 300% boost to the nutrient absorption at the same time. Perfect for all vegetarian smoothies, but any low fat recipes that have seeds in them too!

As the video and this post pointed out, you don’t necessarily need healthy smoothie recipes, just go on and blend the things you like, and create your own healthy vegetarian smoothie! That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t send in your smoothie recipes thou, so keep’em coming!
